Finally rememebered to post about it. So I was just leaving best buy and was going through the rather big lot and saw a car that caught my eye that seemed to be mimicing my driving acrossed a barrier. I stoped for a stop sign and it did too and I realized it was another LS but it had a dark red soft top, I was not shocked but it was weird cause I had never seen one before nor have I heard of that option. It was a nice looking car but I must say it did look alittle funny.

Was there an option for this? My guess is they had it custom done, my hat is off if they did cause it is definately different, not for a lincoln but for an LS.

No it was a dealer installed option I believe for about 2 years until FLM exes caught wind of it and threatened any dealer installing them onto LSs. I personally think its ugly but to each his/her own.

yea.. i've seen lots of them here.. usually blue with the blue top.. i personally dont like it.. i have also seen some with the presidential seal on it.. i believe its supposed to be the "presidential" model.. who knows..

Oh ok, well this was my first time seeing one, did I like? Eh, I'd not get one but hey.

I think it was a dealer option cause when i was looking to buy my ls i saw one with a soft top on the web at a dealership. i personally dont like it but it is uniqe, not many ls owners have it.

I have seen few, one had some 20s on it, but the LS looks much better without that crap.

a friend of a friend just bought one. i sae him at steak n shake, and he was talking about my car and said he just got "a tight ass rag top ls, black on black, its soo sweet". i almost slapped the stupid out of him.

There are shops that will put that on any car. Mostly caddies. I think it is completely ugly but some "gangstas" think its tight. lol

It was definitely NOT a dealer "option". I heard from the VP of Marketing (Jim Rogers) in January 2001, that should we see one of these abortions we should call him, tell him who the dealer was that did it and he would personally break the legs of the dealer that put one of those carriage tops on the LS. He said they could do whatever they wanted to the Town Car, but the LS was to be left alone!
