hi guys, I'm new to the board and I'm sure this question has been asked thousands of times- but what are some good modifications for the Mark VIII??? Mine is stock as of right now but won't be staying that way long. I just want to know what are some of the more effective mods (as in best bang for the buck)? For startes I'm thinking a chip (what's the best one?), dual exhaust (some good mufflers for it? I've heard FlowMasters sound like crap on a Mark), and possibly some gears, although I'm not sure about that... I like the fact that it will already blow past just about anything on the interstate. My brother has a '57 Chev with a 427 and 4.11's and while it's fast off the line, once you get going the gears feel so low it's like driving a tractor. Does the Mark's overdrive compensate some for this or does it still take away a lot on the top end?

Thanks. Any input will be appreciated.

go with 3:73 or 4:10 the heavy car needs a kick in the ass to get moving, chip can be taken care of by lincolnmotorsports site i showed you, mass air flow kit, lms cat back exhaust, summit pulleys for a pre 2000 stang cobra, kook headers, intake off of a cobra.. many things can be done

oh yeah I forgot to ask... is the diffy in the Mark an 8.8 or something totally different? Also, do they come stock with a limited slip as stock or not? Mine is a '95, not an LSC.

cool, thanks. Could someone that has 3.73's or 4.10's let me know what kind of RPMs they are running at 60? You all have me seriously considering buying some steeper cogs but I just want to be sure before I spend the money.

Do the 4.10's I have had them for almost 8 years now and I Love them and I still get 27 and change on the highway. I do 75 mph at 2650 rpm's.

Call me up or inbox me for the right stuff for your car.
