some help on a noise please

on my 95 mk8 there is a noise coming from the front a rattling noise i brought it to a mech and he said it was a strut bushing rite on top of the strut any body ever heard of this all balljoints are good swaybar bushing you hear the noise when you hit a bump it sounds like loose change can anyone helo the mech told me i have to change the whole strut if this happened to anyone please let me know what to do thanks

ok you mean correct on having to change the whole strut or is the like a rubber bushing i can change

if i understand it correctly,it is basically the strut mount,the metal/and or rubber mount that the strut bolts into,
,
 
im not sure if you can get the mount sererate from the strut ill look at work and see what i can find out
 
He was probably referring to the strut rod bushings, as mine are bad. Basically the strut rod (radius arm) goes from your lower control arm to the front of your K member. The bushing where the rod connects to the control arm is what is bad on mine, and makes all sorts of clunking noises. Also causes my car to pull when braking. Hope this helps.
 
Mine pulls when I brake too. Cant be aligned because bad strut rod bushings! $45.00 from NAPA. I havent installed them yet.
