97 Ivory Pearl VIII
See somethin' shiny?
Whan I bought my '99 Navi last month, it came with Pathfinder Sport SUV tires, a Discount Tire price leader. The fronts were so cupped that it made it sound like I needed wheel bearings and it made the front end "hunt" at highway speeds. Traction in the snow wasn't very good, either.
Part of the deal when I bought the Navigator was that I could swap my 15K mile Firestone Destination A/Ts from the Expedition that I traded to my "new" ride. I had rotated them every 5,000 miles, so the wear was really even. Just got to the swap Thursday, and what a difference! The Firestones track right, roll smooth and true, and are so quiet you can't believe it!
Firestone got it right with these tires...even with 15,000 miles, they are like brand new. Check out the reviews on the Tire Rack website. I'm not alone when it comes to satisfied Firestone users.
Just my $0.02 on the subject of tires for today...
