Let me start off by saying wow. Tonight i made the second worst run i have ever done! A lot is due to me not having raced at the track in over a year, and being very very rusty. The first time ever (last year), i ran 15.7. and my best time of the day (still last year) was 15.25.

Tonight it was SOOOOO crouded, that i was only able to get one run in. So, it doesnt give much time to mess arround with diffrent styles of drivin.

R/T------.642
60'------2.549 (worst EVER)
330------6.788
1/8------10.126
MPH------74.00
990-------12.888
1/4-------15.353
MPH-------94.28 (second worst)

Lost to a TPI camaro Z28 by .2841

Besides my R/T being off, i still was horrible with traction, and i missed the first shift and bounced off the rev. and i should have pushed it through the traps, but i shifted into third with about 50 ft left. Next time ill keep it in D and let it shift out on its own, and ill keep the psi in my tires full, and i GOTTA feather the throttle even more. I got a tad bit excited on the line, and mashed it a bit too soon, and spun em. Im figguring, that since i made pritty much the same mistakes the first time, and that it was .45 off of my best...ill take off about .4 from my 15.353, and say that 14.9 isnt too hard, if i were to drive better. I am very disapointed in my driving. I should stick with my natural driving style, instead of the "standard" way of track driving.

W/e, next time...Ill get that 14! Dont you worry. I know shes got it in her. Or ill just get 4.10's and some bolt ons and comp tuning, and skip 14 all together, lol.

So my stock 94 is faster than your car?

15.04 at 94.79 when the tranny was slipping in fairly warm weather.

Better go on a slow day and practice those runs, you should be faster than me.

you got too excited!! one run is not enough to get a baseline so better luck next time!

yeah man, definatly....

It looks like im gonna have to wait till next season. the track downed it to 1 run what you brung night, so as you can immagine its completly packed.

Yeah, i was lookin at the slip and just screwin arround with some calculations, and i put in the other dudes 1/8th et, and converted it to 1/4 et, and it said...15.01, well, he was at 15.097. Pritty good accuracy there, so to me that means he was runnin pritty much the best his car was runnin for the accuracy to be so close. Me on the other hand it said i should be runnin 15.8, which i obviously was not. so it goes to show me that i definatly did a major mess-up before the 1/8th.

Oh yeah, also...ironicly my number was 281!!! That was funny. (i was tellin my buddy that that was the size of my engine, and like 10 min later hes like...DUDE you got the biggest engine here! no one is over 281! Except that honda with a 2444. I hurt my gut laughin, and told him it was a drivers numb and it was just coincidence.)

Come down to Cecil County, they are open until mid December. If you tell me when we can run on the same day.

wait, you shift on an automatic? umm good luck finding a tranny when urs blows. i think the same thing happened to Mark of Death.

anyway, better luck next time

it's the best way to drag race a mark viii...

Dude. I think a 15.3 is a respectable run. But im sure you could run faster if you had more chances to run. And plus what mods do you have a TC and TB tube stuff?

That sucks, the first run is always like a get to know the track run. It is next to impossible to get a good launch on the first run.

Edit: Your RT doesnt count on your ET. The clock starts when you pass the line.

Shifting on your own takes a little practice, you have to hit it just right. If you hit the rev-limiter, throw the run away. I def. give you 14's with some practice or maybe even letting it shift on its own. Don't be discouraged, you did fine.

LincolnsOwn: he has a built tranny from Geno, I think it can handle >600hp so he's probably not worried.

Mr Wilson, don't be discouraged, if you got a 2.2 60 foot time you would have done a 14.9 on that run. Floor it off idle next time and get some more runs in next time, why only 1 this time?

I got outa work @ 8, so by the time i got down there the place was PACKED! they closed the gates before they started letting the "run what u brung" cars go, and our two lanes were filled up. It was a shame. Cool thing is i convinced them to let me in and race for free :).

I know i can do much better, last year my best 60' was 2.2x, so i know im better than that now.

Yeah, im definatly not worried about manually shifting it, cuz the ONLY time i ever do that is at the track, which would prolly not be as effective anyways because if i only do it at the track im not gonna have the practice.

w/e, im gonna invest in a trak lok and go again. I NEED it BAD! Also, it will save me money on tires, lol. :D

WTF.

If you want to race this car, put it in drive, put your left foot on the brake, rest your right foot on the gas. Stage shallow~ which means just barely creep up on the lights until both come on. Wait for the wall to come down and stab the gas pedal when the last yellow 'lights up'. Leave the car in drive and let the computer shift it. You will get your best ET and MPH that way.

The Mark is one of the best pure bracket racing cars out there. It is one of the most consistent. This this process and you will pur down the best times.

You don't need a huge burnout and try to avoid the water if at all possible.

Good Luck.

yeah, thats just how i play'd it when i got my best et...and yeah...definatly avoide the H20

lol, i was just taking advice from someone who is used to the new trans.

ya the ol 1-2 shift blew up my tranny, but i assume LMS upgraded everything in there trans so you can do it all you want, but id ask. also once you get some real power you wont need to do the 1-2 shift, get a badass computer chip and a higher stall converter and 410s you want be able to shift fast enough because you need to watch the road and the tack while your spinning out of control, so i just leave it in drive
