Hello everyone:

I have just bought a 2000 Lincoln LS with the 5 speed manual transmission.
:dancefool
Currently I do the maintenance repairs on all my cars, and can pretty much fix anything that may crop up. (Not because I want to or even need to, but because I can). :wrench
I like to get to know my cars well and what a better way than to immediately take it on a 24 hour shakedown cruise. :steering (I live in Allentown PA and will be flying to Houston TX and driving it back). I hope this will be an uneventful trip and by the end of the journey my seat and the car seat should match perfectly.
Anything I should keep an eye out for during my 24 hour rally?
Anyway, just wanted to say hello. :Beer

I know I will be visiting this site often.

congrats. you buy on ebay? i saw a nice red one in houston on ebay, but i got a better deal from my work(ford dealership), so i took it.

Not purchased on E-Bay.
It's a black one with gray interior. (I will post pics when I get the chance). Fully loaded, moon roof, 17" wheels, Alpine 6 disc etc.

Well, unless you have access to a hoist, I would consider checking all the tire pressures to make sure those are in spec and then check the fluids. Are you buying the car from a dealer? If so, I would ask them to check it out for you underneath (with you watching them) to make sure there are no major leaks and to have them check the suspension (ball joints are a common problem). After that, make sure the AC works and you should be fine. If not, make sure you get ALL the paperwork from them for repairs, etc. Congrats and welcome!

It's from a private sale.
The car has brand new tires, new front brakes and the front bushings were just replaced. No leaks. Everything works. Rear passenger window regulator has been replaced.
I was concerned about a black car baking in the Texas sun for 5 years, but the owner, as one of his job perks, keeps it in a garage at work during the day and at night.
I had a car fax done on the car and an independent appraisal was done to verify condition.
Dealer or private doesn't matter, buying a used car is always a crap shoot.
