Anyone know where I can find one in good condition for a decent price?

Broaden your search... a 98 Mark, 98+ Stang, 98+ Vic non police, and 98+ Grand Marquis will work...

All you have to do is swap over the internal solenoids from your 93-97 trans... And I prefer to do the whole deal and swap over all the internal wiring so there is no BS with having to repin the connectors.

Call Phil at LKQ. 1800-392-9451 x 6747

He found me a super low mileage unit for my brothers upgrade. Couldnt beat the price or the warranty anywhere.

Pure awesomeness man, thank you very much! BTW, what did he pay if you don't mind my asking?

Can you possibly link me to a page that explains how to swap the solenoids and wiring step by step? I have pretty decent mechanical skills, but not so much with wiring. Thanks in advance buddy.

He payed $650 for a 98 trans with 23k mi and a 12mo/12k mi parts and labor warrant

I don't have pics but I will explain it to you the best I can.

Take both transmissions side by side.

Remove the external wiring harness, mlps and the VSS and the other sensor in the side of the trans (can't remember what it is called right now)

Set all those parts aside from the 93-97 unit, you will reuse these.

Remove the same parts from the 98+ trans and throw them away, you won't use them.

Take the 93-97 trans pan off, unclip the internal wiring and save this.

Unbolt the two sqaure solenoids save those.

Unbolt the 93-97 VB toss it, you won't reuse this.

Remove the round solenoid save it.

With the VB off pry the white electrical connector out of the 93-97 unit it will come out the bottom, save this.

Next step depends on if you get a Mark or other trans... if you get a mark trans you are done, if not you might need to swap over the sift lever... the stang one was different when I did it last...

The on the 98 trans undo the hard plastic "wiring"

Undo the valve body and save it from the 98+ trans.

With the VB out pry the black connector out of the 98 trans.

Install the white 93-97 connector in the 98+ trans

Reinstall the 98+ VB with the 93-97 round solenoid and 93-97 square solenoid.

Reinstall the 93-97 wiring harness inside the 98+

Install all the 93-97 external wiring and sensors and put it in your car.

I'd put new springs and accumulator pistons in the new trans while you have it apart... and I would always jmod it... but that is optional.
