Spare Tire Question

Well, My LS has the largest temporary use tire I've ever seen. Will a factory 16" Alloy with a factory size tire fit in the spare area? I'm considering an upgrade. I suppose I could just pull a wheel off and see, but if one of you guys already know the answer that would be great!

I have a full size 17" rim with 235 50R17 tire as a spare...fits fine.

I stuck one of my factory 16's in the spare tire well after I put my aftermarket wheels on. No problems getting it in there.

Great! I just bought a matching factory alloy to use as a spare. Got it on eBay for $37 with $11 shipping.

Now I just need another tire!

I can tell you from sad experience that the factory 17" wheels with 235/50R17 tires will fit in the well with room to spare. I have seriously considered acquiring another matching wheel to be my spare.

That's one place Lincoln has lost to BMW, IMHO. The M3 I test drove not only had the larger/wider (not to mention more expensive) forged wheels, but it also had one for the spare.

My 2000 LS came with the matching full size spare and matching rim.
