So my cars in the shop for a bunch of things. I just bought Bosch plugs and installed them myself. The dealer says that theyre bad for my car and that i should stich with the OEM motorcraft plugs (10 bucks a piece). Is this true or are they trying to get me to spend more. Is there a big difference from using aftermarket plugs. Should i stick with what i have or go to motorcraft. thanks

I've heard of OEM coils being the best, but I'm pretty sure a few people have swapped out the spark plugs for better ones with no problems. I'd wait for a response from Quik or Rocket before making a decision.

Your dealer is correct. They have had some issues with the Bosch plugs in the past. Somewhere, there is some published literature on this. I wouldn't even screw with anything besides Motorcraft plugs. You know they are correct for the application, you won't have to worry about changing them again for probably as long as you own the car unless you drive the wheels off it....and there is no horsepower, performance, or drivability improvements by using another plug. So why change? Also...do a little looking around...$10 a plug is "bend you over" retail.

for the most part - a plug is a plug is a plug. IIRC - the OE are single lead platium. The only reason I see to change would be if you are running N2O - then switch to a colder, copper plug.

Im not tring to jack your thread but I thought Id through in this ? Are Iridium plugs worth the cost on a bacially stock LS? (no NOS)

Just my opinion but I run a p\c 5.0 90 M7 and i have tried the bosch plugs and have noticed no difference between them and the motorcraft except for in the price and $10\plug for the motorcraft is definitley "bend you over retail"

Read posts 4 and 5 above. The answer is a definitive NO.
