Ok, I think I want some more sound, so far I think I have the audiophile because all I have is 4 speakers on the doors that sound very good, but I want to add some 6x9 on the rear decks. Has anybody done this?, and is it hard to hook up some 6x9's to the stock 6cd in dash changer? Any help would be greatly appreciated..

you have the audiophile system - if it says 'alpine' on the CD door - plus you have the two console speakers and a rear amp with rear deck speakers.

ok i just got done with this. i put new 5x7 bostons in the doors and kept them running off the factory amp (easy). then the back deck were harder, you cant just put 6x9s back there cause the amp that powers them is made to only put out bass. i tried this woth some boston 6x9s and they just popped the whole time cause there wsa too much power going to them. i then put 2 8" rockfords back there but that wasnt enought or basically any bass runnign off the factory. then i decided to just put some more boston 5x7s back there and take the sub amp out (factory amp) and run them off the rear door speakers. its pretty easy to do. now i have 3 boston 5x7s runnig off the factory amp (temp) and have 2 12" xtants and an xtant amp.

Just replace the 5x7/6x8s in the door with a nice 2or3way speaker and drop a sub in the trunk believe me it will sound good. I spent total on my system was $550.00, for 2 sets of Alpine Type-S 6x8s' and a 10" Alpine Type-S sub with a 300 watt Alpine V12 amp. Its just enough for me I dont need my aunt two states away to hear my system. Good luck with your system to each his own.

I have 2 l7 12"(kicker solo baric)(newer model) for sale, in a box... Dont know what your type of music is, but if you want to be heard you'll be heard!!! 350 for both plus shipping.. I'm going with 2 l7' 15" or maybe even the solo x 18" depending on how much its gona cost to get a custom box built.... you'll need an amp, your factory amp will not run these, you'll most likely fry the amp..... I do have a rockford bd1500.... i prefer to keep it but may sell if the price is right... :bash:

Need an angled enclosure to fit good behind the seats for anything larger then 13.5" subs

Ok.... well i dont have the audiophile system,.. but I swear I though I saw alpine on the changer..., so I only have the 4 door speakers which sound good.., and I saw cutouts for the 6x9's ontop over the back seats... so does anybody know if its hard to add 2 6x9's to the factory 6cd in dash changer?

you can just wire them up the factory amp that i running those 5x7s in the back deck. the speaker back the is just a mid range speaker that is used for the bass. if you just put a 6x9 back there and leave it running off the factory amp it will snap, crackle and pop. due to the frequency i believe (adrian helped me out). i just wired some 5x7s off the back door speakers.
also damn 154 with 2 12s, i had 4 12s in my exploder and only hit 147.6. it was loud enough for me. cant wait to see you new set up, post some pics

This is basicly what I want to do. Just upgrade the (6) 6x8's to full range speakers and leave the stock bass unit stock. So my main questions are:

What's the best/easiest way to access the 4 door speakers?
and
How do I make the 2 rear 6x8's full range instead of just bass?

I think I would be very happy with that setup.

(what is in the stock bass unit anyway?)

Thanks all
