Sst

I have a 2000 model 3.9 V8 with sport package, I am wondering if there is a way to get the trans to go into 1 (first) when put into SST mode while stopped?
Mine goes into 2 (second).
I have done a search through this forum before I posted this and could not find any topics.

For all of us pre 03's :Bang who want the SST can I buy the 03 &up sst assy. and the car go into first or is it more complecated than that?

nope - it's controlled by the PCM - the shifter is just a lever and switch.
