I replaced the rear Stabilizer bar link this past Sunday. On Monday, the thing separated out of the socket/joint. what would cause it to fail so quick?

Could be a true manufacturers defect. Is it the plastic type? I read tons of reviews about plastic ones being crap. Both my links were broken when I bought my car and they were plastic non-greaseable type. I replaced them with the Moog all metal ones with greaseable joints. The Moog ones are around $50 each at my local advance, Autozone and NAPA. I found them at rockauto for $30 each plus $6 shipping, or so. My total bill was $90 for the two links and a lower radiator hose that cost $20.

I ordered it from RockAuto. After they replaced the first one and then the 2nd one broke, I ordered the Moog. I received the Moog yesterday and I have no concerns about this breaking any more. You can tell this thing was made to last.

One question though, has anyone found where to buy the rear stabilizer bushings at? I am having a hard time...
Thanks!

Not sure about this but thought I heard that the bushings are available from autozone. I read that either here at lincolnvscadillac or at the other site that i found owners of these cars.

Funny Story... The problem I have had with the link bar was on the rear but I replaced the fronts at the same (2 fronts 1 rear) but the front links will not stay tight. Everytime I tighten the front driver side link, about a week later my car would start to rattle and I knew I would have to re-tighten the stupid thing.

Moral of the story is don't by cheap stabilizer bar links! I replaced the rear with the Moog and looking at them you can see the difference. I plan on replacing the front two and the other rear.

My caravan did that once. The sway bar link was metal but it had the itsy bitsy teenie tiny allen wrench to hold the shaft while I tightened the nut. Needless to say the allen wrench stripped so out came the big vise grips and the cheater on the wrench.
