Started Bowling Again

Stopped bowling 2005. I started back up last night on a league. Its mixed(coed) league. I was VERY pleased with my first night back.

Average 230
I didn't expect to shot so well the first night. I had three opens. Usually its your spare game that goes first. Give me a few more weeks. My spare game will come back to me.
 
I agree very nice games
I hope when I start again I can average 180s I haven't bowled in 9+ years
 
Nice job! What ball are you throwing? I switched to a Brunswick Smash Zone and my average went up 20 pins.
 
Very nice indeed. I am an avid bowler, mainly because I married into it. The wife grew up bowling, had scholarships, averages 214 right now. When I started bowling 7 years ago I averaged 123. Now I am up to 192. It seems like everytime I get a new ball it goes up. Right now I have a black widow and a rotogrip rogue cell.

My ultimate dream would be to go pro and be sponsored by Miller Lite! That would be the life!!

Congrats to the great games. Coming that close to 700 after 5 years is insane. Keep it up.
 
I am a righty.All of my equipement is "old"/out dated.

I have four balls that I use.
Primary ball: 15lb Track Avenger. Drilled for max hook.
Secondary ball: 15lb Track Avanger. Drilled to sail long and snap on the back end.
Spare ball: 16lb Ebonite Yankee Doodle ball.
Fourth ball: 16lb Track Triton Elite pearlized. Drilled for max hook. I use it, when I am having problems with carry. I smash the pocket. So a 16lb ball for me is not the best thing. I get a LOT of 9 counts with it.

Funny story. A few months before I stopped bowling. I was in Omaha Ne for work. I stopped by this local pro-shop. Thay had two 16lb Track Avengers. New still in the original boxes for $170 for the pair. I bought them thinking another season. I can replace the old ones with them. That was spring of 2005.:eek:

WOW!!!!! Your wife must be a hell of a bowler. Very impressive. Guess on league, shes the boss? Just joking with you. Bet, you get some great discounts on gear?

I use to joke around and say "I am on a drinking team with a bowling problem". I have a CDL. DOT is really cracking down on us. Legal limit for CDL holders is .04. So I don't drink at all, when I am out. Not even one drink. Not messing with my job.

I cracked the thumb slug in my Triton Elite. Took a chip out of it too. I will drop it off monday. have it filled and redrilled.
 
That sux. I was shootin at a 10 pin with the widow, put it in the ditch and it flew out... over the lane... and hit the metal return on the other side. Took a huge chunk out of the ball but got it fixed. They guy drilled it out and used 3 slugs to fill it in.

Bet that scared the chit out of some people.
 
Got my Triton Elite fixed. Good thing too. I needed it friday night. The shot was inconsistant all night. I was moving every frame. I had to play outside the second arrow all night. The other team was playing inside killing my usual shot. I am still struggling with my spare game. Shot clean the first game. Four opens the second game. Shot went to hell. Third game, made a big move. i had one open. I am 29 pins behind the guy with high average. He won it last year. I am REALLY competitive. I originally was just aiming for a 200+ average for the year. Now, I am going for high average on the league.

That looks like great scores....I'm lucky if I brake 100:D and not slide past the line:eek:and the older I get the heavier my balls feel.
 
Just bowled a perfect game on my WII lol. Bowling is fun, I mean real bowling. Can't wait till my back is all healed up so I can get out there again.

Through 9 games, he has me by 29 pins. Its close. I having fun. Thats the best thing. Just excited to be at it agian.

BTW I looked at a Rogue at the Pro-shop. That is one sweet looking ball.

Wii bowling is tough. My 6 year old gives me a hardtime about it. What did you do to your back?
 
The shot SUCKED tonight. No snap on the backend. I struggled to hit the pocket solid all night. When I did hit the pocket, all ten in the pit. I have forgot a lot of the simple adjustments I use to make. Things are slowly returning to me. It will take sometime.

Average dropped to 215.3. I am only 2 pins behind the guy with average. His dropped to 215.4. I will take high average next week.
 
Same crappy shot tonight. I am getting use to it now. Took high average tonight. I am still trying to catch up with making the right adjustment early enough.

Game 3 241 left the big four in the eleventh frame

I FINALLY figured out the shot. I kept moving left or right. I was right there. Just couldn't get carry. I moved backwards two inches. Shot my best game so far this year. Had 8 in a row.
Game 1 196 3 opens, all splits
Game 2 192 1 open, 10 pin
Game 3 257 8 in row, clean
Total 645
Average 215.8
I have high average with a nice 6 pin lead.
