When i was leaving work today, as i pulled out of the parking lot my car just shut off. Its a 2000 licoln lse, not really sure what the problem could be. But it wont start at all now, could be the pcm but not sure if you have any idea please respond asap so i can get this damn thing fixed!!

info would be helpful. does it crank? do accessories work? etc...

That sounds suspiciously like a dead battery; if the battery dies, the car dies. It's possible that the acceleration caused a cell or two to short. Take the battery to AutoZone, Pep Boys, or the like, and have them test it.

Does it crank? Did you hit a hard bump maybe and need to reset the cut off switch?

wheres the cutoff switch at

You know what? I'm not sure on this car...and my son has mine. It's an inertia switch I have seen on every fuel injected Ford. It trips the fuel pump relay in case of an accident so fuel doesn't continue to pump. But the location will be in your owner's manual. There's a little button you push to reset it. Most cars have them in the trunk. A lot of pickups had them by the tranny hump under the dash.

Ok...I went to our on-line owner's manual. They don't have a 2000...but the 2001 shows it behind the driver's side kick panel. There should be an access panel there so you can get to it. Push the red button.

Go to page 171 on the 2001 owner's manual for complete instructions.
