He made a bad joke.. and to make it an even bigger gaffe, he got things confused and referred to the wrong woman.

After Nancy Reagan's husband was nearly died at the hands of an assassin, she had an emotional (not a rational) response and consulted an astrologist. It was Hillary that was said to have "channeled" the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt while in the White House.

Let's not cry wolf over every stupid thing. Because when important things happen, credibility is lost.
It goes without saying that Obama is in for a shock right now. The real world is vastly different than the one they teach at University.

There is actually no evidence of this. An Obama staffer made this claim.

And even if he did, that doesn't excuse his "joke." Look what hey the media made out of Bush's joke to the reporter wearing sunglasses, and the false claim of Bush 41 waving to Stevie Wonder.

I'm not going to cut him any more slack than the left has cut Bush, or any other conservative, for that matter. Every time Limbaugh's name comes up, somebody calls him the pillpopper, so Obama gets the cokehead monicker from me.

If you think that's an effective way of convincing people, go ahead.
I don't. I'd be more concerned that you'd lose credibility when doing that, so when you make a policy argument, it's easily dismissed.

Hey, here's a novel idea: Go start an argument with a liberal, and quit fighting your own. I'm pretty sure that's at least as destructive as is what you're accusing me of doing.

Failing that, from now on please continue this conversation via PM. I'm pretty sure you're not helping things by airing it out.

I'd do it by PM, but that implies that there's something private or clandestine about this. There's not. Where both very frustrated by the way the political winds have turned in this country, but we're both addressing it in different ways. There are probably a couple people reading this, who don't post, that are have the same internal conflict as we are.

You don't see this kind of discussion on the left. That's what happens when the movement is entirely emotional and akin to that of a cult.

Since 'truth' is philosophical, Joey, your statement doesn't make sense. On the other hand, although I think the election of 'O' was this country's greatest mistake, I have better things to do than to try to chart his every little error.

The truth is that Obama was not even eligible to run for president. The lawsuit that Mr. Berg filled is not done with yet! It is currently before the US supreme court & Obama has until Dec 1st to respond. Anyone who says, who cares if he's a natural born citizen should move out of the USA & kick rocks! We need to know the truth!

His promises of change are still so vague that you have no idea what this nut is even talking about. All he talks about is change but he never tells you what in the hell he is going to change. All we know for sure is that he doesn't like white people or guns & he will tax anything that he can. America picked this nut & will now have to pay the price. I still think the guy has terrorist ties & is very dangerous.

I'm not going to make an argument saying Bush avoided cocaine through the 70s and 80s.. that's a pretty weak statement.

But the mere speculation of it was reported on by the press and they repeatedly tried to pin Bush down on that possibility. They even asked him about his background directly.

Obama was so lovingly spared that treatment and scrutiny.
