When I picked up my 93 today after hearing about my Upper Control Arm problem.

Ed, one of the mechanics and someone who I would trust,(and will be on the cruise in July) told me to ask you guys about my steering.

He said the thought it was a little hard or that the gears seemed tight or slow to respond. Ed wanted me to just ask the forum if you guys who are more familar with Lincolns the Mark VIII for your ideas before I have to pay for him to have to look into it.

I haven't been driving it and my daughter just accepts things as is and then compensates, so I don't get to hear about things until it's too late sometimes.

Anyway Ed, asked me to see if there are any steering issues that I should check out.

I did notice what he talked about when I drove the car. Anything I should check out?

I think I might have read something somewhere about rack and pinions getting bound up....not 100% sure though I could be totally wrong.
I replaced mine recently, but that was because it was loose inside.

Bad ball joints will cause friction while turning, making the steering feel tight or inconsistent. Check the lowers, they usually make some crazy noises when they're bad.

Wait what do you mean? Right now it is making crazy noise!! If I press down on the fender it makes a lot of noise...

Is my lower ball joint bad also?
