Well I've been having this problem for a while but I havent had money/time/willpower to do anything about it but I guess I've cracked and I feel like I must fix this!

Anyway, my steering wheel oscilates always, at 15 mph or 115 mph, it just oscilates faster at faster speeds. What I mean by oscilate is it shakes but in a very consistant manner, about a 5-10 degree play on a 360 degree wheel. Just back and forth, back and forth.... I have no doubt that my rotors are warped, as I was young when I took my car to Pep-Boys to let those clumsy retards change it... so I plan on doing it myself soon, torquing the wheel-lugs to 90lbs each and going through the braking process of 25-5mph a few times and letting them cool. However, I don't think that my wheel shaking is completely due to the rotors (though I will find out soon), so what else could be causing this problem?

Also, there is a guy on ebay who sells complete sets of rotors for the mark VIII for $150, drilled and slotted, click here to check out the ebay deal and please let me know if this is a good deal or if they are a craptastic gimmick, I don't know much about rotors besides that I have the instructions to install them (Factory manual for the 94 and tons of resources online) but I don't know if they are "good."

Thanx for any responses to the steering or rotors!

could actually be the tires, may need them balanced again (our cars are very sensitive to balancing), could also be the wheel bearings

I had that problem with my 93 last fall. It was a wheel bearing. Sure ran nice after that change.

I've also had a woble from old tires and changing them also helped a lot.

Bearing is about $80 the socket to take if off is about $25.

Thanx for the info guys! I'm actually in Iowa City right now otherwise I would take you up on your offer.

What about the rotors? are they worth the $150??

could be the front roter front wheel balans or
maybe a broken belt in the tire perhaps

When my sway bar end links were bad it did this constantly.

I love the names of your car. My Mark VIII is named Princess Cherry. I named her princess and the previous owner called her Cherry. I put both names together.

I actually named my car after the TV program Dark Angel, Jessica Alba's character was named Maxine. I thought it fit very well.

My Mark's steering wheel starts to shake above 55 to 60 miles per hour. I figure I'll start with new rotors and move on from there. I sure could use some new front tires as well.

If it was in your rotors you feel it more in your brake pedel moving up and down under braking then your steering wheel moving side to side. I would rotate, balance, all tire and wheels first and I would bit that would fix your problems.

When I brake, I can feel a bit of wobbliness in the front end. On top of the steering wheel shaking above 55, the brakes don't feel very good, and they pull a bit when braking (calipers are probably not in the best shape). Chances are I could use a lot of work in the suspension and brake system. A few grand extra would be nice right now.
