My mark is still leaving some trany fluid. I just got a flush about 3 weeks ago and car shifts like new. But my car still leaks not alot but enough to anoy me enough to fix it. When I got the flush they did the whole drop the pan and stuff so i know its not comin from there. Were else could it be? Its wierd I drove for about 2 hours straight got home parked in the driveway looked under the car nothin a few hours check again a quarter size drop wait a day about 2 inches in diameter. What would this be dipstick o-ring but only leaking when it sits ,wtf.. When its not running and just sitting? Thanks again..

It is possible, you have to think, when you are driving the fluid is being utilized in the tranny so the level is not so high that it will leak out of the dipstick o-ring. So, when it sits, the level will rise accordingly because you are not driving/running the car so the fluid is therefore going to rise. That is why they tell you to check the level with the tranny hot and the car running......

Makes sense, my levels are fine but were is it comin from? I mean to loose fluid at such small amounts at a time, I think its the dipstick o-ring, idk. keep up with the feedback thanks...

Is there a moist dirt ring around your fill tube where it mates to the tranny? Thats where I found my mystery leak on my Gen II.

Ill check tommorow when theres some light out, lol. Did your mark have the same symptoms because it was so wierd my car never left a drop drove it one time for a few hours like always got home next day fluid all over, wtf. Got the flush fixed the majority of the leak now only a bit here and there. I really think its the o-ring because its in such small amounts, thanks Ill check that out, thanks for the feedback

Yes, . . . I would go a few days with no leaks. Then a few drips, later an oil slick down the driveway. I would clean and tighten the pan bolts and go for a few days without leaks. Then it would seem to taunt me with a small run down the driveway. The part that gets me most is I had the pan off a couple of weeks ago and didn't inspect the fill tube. I'm looking into what it would take to get the fill tube out to replace the O-ring. It dosen't look like much fun. I have a drip pan under it now that I tend to miss when I return home from work.
Perhaps in a fit of testosterone I'll wind up siliconeing the dang thing, from the outside in!

lol, sounds like I found the problem. Now I poped the hood to see if i could find the dirt crap around were it mats to the trany. But i couldent see from the top were it mats so ill check under tommora. But i could see some grease in that area were the rest is clean, so its from that general area 1 thing it could possible be is the dipstick o-ring.

I would think that "Murphy" and his entire clan would have to visit you to blow PRNDL juice out of the top of your fill tube. That would be an easy check though, just feel around the top of the fill tube. I'm thinking that your right about the O-ring on the fill tube to tranny. An under car inspection would be the ticket.

sounds good, U cant see crap from the top, lol. But how the hell is the filler tube attached to the trany. Does it mat up with a pair of bolts or somethin. Is this a real complex fix or simple? Thanks again.

get u sum white paper and place under the car from the front wheel to the back of the door. if you want to make referance marks on it then you can measure it out to find what is leaking with out haveing to crawl under. sounds like the dip stick tube or possibly a chaffed cooling line but it would be very noticeable. jd

the dip stick is secured to the rear of the right head and has an o-ring on the bottom that seals it to the transmisson as you push the tube in. not a hard job but diffucult to reach the bolt. jd

Thanks jd, I did a similar experiment to find the leak, I first hosed down the underneath of the car, placed a towel over the area. Now when it leaks the fluid comes down collects on my drain plug and on the pan, so it ends up coming off those two but both the plug and the pan are secured and even the pan has been resealed recently when i had a flush so i know those two arent the culprit, I think its the dipstick o-ring because the fluid begins to collect on that side and theres grease in that area were the rest of the area is grease free. so ill check under there when its not raining or something. Thanks again.....
