My stock radio is acting up. It sounds like it has bad reception it was really bad 2 days ago and now has gotten a little better but still sounds funny. It sounds very grainy and fuzzy. All stock unit but the door speakers (Alpine 6 disc). They have been working fine. CDs sound fine in the unit so it must be the tuner. Could it be something with the antenna a connection or something? Thanks for the help.

What kind of LS is this? Year, engine, etc. There is a TSB on the radio for some LS models.

Just a mini-rant from me: you guys who want diagnostic advice should post the details of your car because some solutions vary from model year to model year.

Does it happen when playing a CD too? I had a muffled sound coming from my stock Alpine system awhile back, turned out it was a bad speaker in the drivers door. I found it by using the balance/fade controls to single out each speaker. Mine was most noticeable when the volume was barley audible.

If it is fine in CD mode then I agree with you it's probably something with the antenna.

BTW have you said something like "George Bush is an idiot" with in the last 30 days. If you have, don't worry about your problem. It just all the bugs and GPS tracking devices that the NSA has put in your car that are interfering with you radio reception. They will take them back off once they conclude your not the leader of a "sleeper cell".:)

I was wondering why people do not at least put the year and model of the LS they are driving in their signature. Would save a lot of extra questions. :)

Yup, that should be a requirement on the board.

When you say "it has bad reception", does it not tune in strong stations, or do you really mean sound quality is bad, but reception is OK?
