Stock speaker change out??

I would search this subject but I keep getting a message that I have to wait 680 seconds between searches!


I have the Alpine premium in my 2k ls. I have recently had the 4 door speakers changed out and soon the 2 center speakers.
To save me some time does someone know if there is 1 or 2 speakers in the factory sub box in the trunk?
And: Is it possible the put a single 8" sub or 2 8's in its place using the stock amp?

Also just the speaker change done sounds great.

There are two 6x8 subs in the rear deck. They are paper cone subs. 8" subs can go in it's place but requires some modification to the enclosure. The stock amp might not have enough power to push some good subs. If you change the amp, the head unit doesn't give a good input to an aftermarket amp.

the search function in kinda weak, try searching for the word "speaker". there are several thread on this upgrade.

i replaced the 6x9s in my car, and replaced the amp. this set up hits harder than the stock, however, it also rattles a little. i need to take it apart again and find the rattles. search my threads to see the pictures.
