Hey everyone, to start off i finally received my coil spring conversion kit last week. I'm very pleased with the handling of the car now. But as everything in my life goes, i fix one problem and develop another. I had a clarion mp3 cd player installed back in march and it worked fine. I had my fuel pump replaced later than month. They had removed the rear seat to install the pump and then my radio started acting up with the sound going in and out. Not sure what the two had in common, if anything. The problem seemed to had fixed itself. Now, being august, i have developed the same problem, except its a lot worse now. When the car is first turned on, the radio works fine, but after being on for a bit, the sound goes in and out, but the radio never loses power. I checked my factory amp in the back and it was extremly hot to the touch. Could this be a sign of my amp going out or do i have another problem going on...lol hopefully someone can help me out.

Thanx
joe :L

first check the antenna/connection ensuring you have adequate reception, otherwise it's probably the speaker wiring or the amp is crapping out

Is It All Of The Speakers Or Just The Front? Cause My Front 4 Will Go On And Off Sometimes , Mostly When I Hit A Bump Or Something. My Friend Who Has His Own Electronics Place Said That It Can Be Either A Losing Connection To The Factory Amp...or The Amp Is Crapping Out. Hope That Helps.

LOL...beats me about dropping the tank...I just know that i'll never take it back to that place again...LOL Its all the speakers in the car. They work fine when you first turn them on, but then they just crackle and go completely off. Does it wheither its on the stereo, cd player. It'll stay off for a bit, then crackle, come back on and then go off as quickly as it came back on. My luck its the amp..LOL silly question here, if it is the amp, can i replace it with an aftermarket, or will i have to find another factory amp...LOL

It sounds like the amp... Then again, it could be the amps on the deck, or who knows what else.

The amp should not be HOT. Especially since you haven't worked it hard.

Bypass the factory amp, and see if that solves your problem.

IF not, then the deck's drivers ( built-in amps) may be going out.

Swap it with another deck, and see if you still have that problem

I would check behind your back seat because they may have cut a hole in your floor to replace the pump instaed of lowering the tank. If they did that you certainly would want to be sure it was re-sealed properly.

Outstanding advice! That would be the first thing I checked. But there may be an access hole there too...I can't remember. But I would pull it all out anyway and see what, if anything, they did to your amp wiring.
