Alright, bear with me on this explanation as I want it to be as detailed as possible.
For about the past week and a half to two weeks my car has been making a strange noise when I am stopped and in 1, 2, D, or O/D. It sounds like banging a spoon inside an empty tin can, and also sounds likd it is coming from the front drivers side area, in front of the break pedal past the firewall. When I turn my stearing wheel while I am stopped and in drive, the sound increases in volume and frequency, but when I stop turning the wheel the noise stops momentarily and comes back. If I put my car in N, R, or P, or let off the brake a little the noise stops.
This is deffinetly not my air ride pump b/c that has been making noise for a while and I can differentiate between the two sounds. The culprit noise sounds like the air pump but has a lower frequency is a little louder, and is coming from a different part of the engine.
This problem in no way seems to effect my car in any way, it drives fine and shifts fine, but I certianly am not comfortable letting this sound continue. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Thanks for any imput!
