Before anyone gets all worked up ! I have been searching for two days and haven't found a thread relating to installation of an aftermarket sub ? I have a 2003 with nav. i want to install a Sound Ordnance B-8P powered bandpass sub ! And anybody want to hate F##K OFF !!! I just need a little more bass than stock ! I've looked around and this little bad boy seems to be the best price sound ratio around ! My question to you guys is how do I install this thing ! I basically mean what wires go where , what do i have to disconnect , how much should it cost a shop to do the work !? If there's a thread with this info please link it up for me ! Thx

First off, you need a mono amplifier to power the sub.

Then take a LOC and attach to the rear stock subwoofer connectors.

After that run RCAs from that LOC to the subwoofer amplifier, and tap remote lead off of one of the OEM amplifiers in the back, or the NAV unit to tell the amp when do turn on.

After that just wire the amp to the battery that is already in the trunk, then attach subwoofer to the amp.

Check the link in my sig. Should answer some of your questions.

LOC = line out converter

(No way this kid knows what a "LOC" is otherwise.)

 Youre right no f#####g idea ! I'ma get some mexican to install it my boy has the hook up ! 40$ for a sub install in my o3' ... I don't have time to start taking things apart and putting them back together , next thing you know , Oops where did that f@#%&!g screw go !!! Instead ima roll a big ass blunt and watch homie do it for me !

The LS is one of the easiest cars to put a sub into. Everything is done in the trunk. No reason to go past the rear seats at all.

Whenever you can do your own work on your car I would suggest you do. That way you learn more about your vehicle, can troubleshoot any problems that arise as you will know what was done and gain an undestanding of vehicles in general which can be useful later in life. Oh yeah, and save a little money.

Hope all goes well with the install.

Thanks guys after a whole day of pondering and looking around looks like i might get this http://qc.kijiji.ca/c-autos-et-vehicules-pieces-auto-pneus-audio-GPS-Brand-New-Kicker-10DC104-Dual-10-Comp-Series-Loaded-Subwoofer-W0QQAdIdZ375200598 and hook it up to http://www.crutchfield.ca/Sound_Ordnance_M1500_500W_x_1_at_2_Ohms_Car_Amplif_p/777m1500.htm . Thanks for the wiring info seems pretty straight forward ! however ill let a professional take care of it while i get P.K 'd the f@#k out . Oh P.K ( purple kush ) i wonder how much hate ill get for being a pothead ! What is it with you guys and your forum is it so hard to give some input without being pricks ! There's only a few guys on here who actually help out . The rest of you need to get a life and go get laid or something because being a prick doesn't get you anywhere in life ! That's why ya'll spend all your time in your little fantasy world over here ! A bunch of teenage 40 year olds ! Gimme a f@#$&%g break and move out of your mothers house ... So next time you have something smart to say keep in mind we're not all car wizards that know everything thats why im asking the god damned questions in the first place :D !!!

this sounds like sure a bad idea, i dont know where to begin.

BTW, i would rather lose one or two screws than risk somebody rigging up my system and burning my car down!

You dont have to be a wizard to connect a system like this.

I smoked before when i was young and didn't need to worry about following laws to succeed in life. And i work in a government job and thats a big no no.

All of us help each other out plenty....you're the one that seems immature and living at home with mommy. Sorry but i pay my own rent and car note and work hard for a living.

Installing an LOC in the rear and hooking up a single amp to a single sub is childs play. Dont be a cheap ass and just go to a shop and ASK before you let Jose melt your rear deck (for the record im hispanic).

Yes, this is a great way to make sure people help you out in the future.

Go smoke another one, champ.

+1.

Insulting people in a forum where you are asking for help isnt the best idea. But you will figure that out sooner or later when your LS has some real problems....Or you can take it to a mechanic and get ripped off while you get "P.K.'d the f@#k out of"

Can't we all just get along ??? All I'm saying is have some respect not everyone has knowledge about vehicles like some of you ! That's the reason I'm on here asking for advice and help ! And Black I wasn't being sarcastic i didn't know what a LOC was before you spelled it out for me ! You see that's being helpful ! After all i think I'm going to install myself and maybe go with something a little bit bigger ! My deadline is June ! So hopefully i can make my mind up before that ! Thanks for the help guys !:D

Could you elaborate a little bit ! This is what will be telling my sub to kick in when needed (Bass tones) Is it going to eliminate the two small OEM subs or will those still work if i used them for mid lows ? I think im going to do what someone mentioned earlier ... Talk to the guy at the audio shop hopefully they wont be pricks and point

Thanks for the feedback guys !

Here is my problem with your original post. There was a much more effective way to say that your mind was set and please just respect my choice of equipment. The f off nonsense was pretty much not needed. From that point on, you had already set the impression, whether you intended, that you had a really smarta** way about you. We all pretty much accept that anytime we post anything there is the strong chance someone is going to post with an opposing thought or choice. Overwhelmingly, most here accept that is just part of being on a forum but respect each other and just move forward.

That is my 2 cents and you can tell me to f off all you want....

Take the car to a shop. This seems to be above your level of understanding.

A remote lead is what switches the amp on with the radio. It doesnt switch the amp on an off. The amp needs to always be on for you to have bass.

Adding an LOC has nothing to do with eliminating the small subs. You can go to google and search how to install line output converter and follow those directions they dont need to be vehicle specific.

Mob your bipolar as a MF arn't you...(wonder what thats related to?) . What gets us "teenage 40 year olds" all worked up is stupid threads. Your legit question was answered (quite well by the way). But then you went off the deep end. If your going to pay, as you ignorantly put it "some mexican", to do a simple install, then why even ask in the first place, wasting our time.

As for teenage 40's (average is around 29) that need to get out of our mom's basement, Pretty sure that was covered in the what we do for a living thread ... But a pothead, ex-felon with extra "side hustles" doesnt sound like someone that has a lot of room to talk....

If you want help, ask. but dont be a tool about it. If your not going to actually do anything, then dont ask.

oh and if you need help finding a system. let us know what your looking for (sound quality, pressure, price range etc.)
