I would like to thank school zone for the tip on running my power wire through the wheel well. That saved me some money. I got the system in and it sounds awesome, but my compass went out. Usually it comes back in in a few days but this time it hasnt. I have two 12 inch woofers so im sure if the compas module is in the trunk that the magnets on these speakers threw it off. So, 1) is the compass module in the trunk. (on a 93) 2) can i relocate it if it is.

Yes the module is in the trunk. I don't know where exactly you could move it though. I know some other members have done it so I'm sure they will chime in.

I've got mine under the rear seat, it should be on a plastic tray under the rear shelf...

I'm glad I could help.

I see no reason why the compass can't be relocated, assuming the wires are long enough. After you move it to the new location, it would be wise to re-calibrate it.

You might be able to run the compass wires to attach to a newer '96 mirror/compass.

Isn't that the compass attached to the rear view on the later models?

Wires for it might be tucked behind the headliner also? *shrug*

The same thing happened to me when I put subs on the rear deck on my '94. So I moved the compass module to the floor of the trunk, all the way back behind the rear seat. It took a few days but the compass finally woke up.
This was about 5 years ago and the compass has worked fine ever since.
Hope this helps.
