Sunroof stuck open. It almost is closed. It is just short of closing all the way. Anyone have any ideas on it. It also quits sliding right before closing then you press the buton again and it goes in but does not rise up all the way shut. Also on opening it quits after one inch and when you press the button again it then opens all the way. Also the pop up part of the roof switch will not activate.

my Mark doesn't have a sunroof, sorry I can't help you, but this is one of the reasons I didn't want one, they seem to have alot of problems and I would not be happy if I couldn't close a hole in my roof. good luck, JC....

dont know about ASC, but the motor is def. out of sync when you push the open button and it goes back an inch the motor thinks that the roof is vented so it goes a little bit to "close" possion press it again and it opens the rest of the way, i would try to close it as far as it will go then take the motor down and press the close button and the motor will run till it gets to a "stop" leave the motor off the track and shut the roof then re install the motor

I found all the motor screws loose that hold the motor in place. I also found I could put the torque bit into the center hole in the motor and manually close the roof. I did what you said, and it still has that first click stop. It does however run the top into place, it just won't go that extra step and vent the roof. I am going to get some lock washers to put on the screws.

lock wasers and locktite are a good thing and here is the instructions out of the book and now i know too i told you the generic way (i do all the sunroof concerns that come into work) this should do it for ya

Nice. Is it the same for 96? My has been acting funny for a while, although I have always been able to get it to close so far.
