Is there any system out there that can be semi easily installed onto the mark motor that puts out a measley 3-6lbs of boost for about 2k and under?
 
im not that anxious yet...im just trying to come up with a game plan...but that kinda boost would not be able to be run on the stock motor. Im thinking just a tad bit of boost to wake up the stock motor, thats y i said like 3-6lbs.

if there is such a product.

Yeah, a leafblower...
 
Not really....Unless you find a deal somewhere.


The "easiest" unit to put on is the Vortech S-trim KIT for the 96-98 cobras. Notice I said the easiest......There are still alot of things that need to be taken care of to get it to work.

The intakes are different (Cobra intake will fix that problem), and it just plain out does'nt fit well under a stock hood. things need trimmed, and clearanced to fit.

mike, what about the internals of the block? like cams, rods, pistons.... etc. don't you have to replace them with forged parts? and up the compression ratio? cause wont the supercharger screw the stock marks internals in the long run?
 
Not as long as you keep the boost levels down. The engine in my 95 was supercharged for a while and had the piss beat out of it. I'm still driving it today, and everything is fine on it.


the only time you start running into trouble is 9+ Psi. You start running the chance of breaking ring lands, and bending rods.
 
That's why nobody is really worried about forged internals on the LS Supercharger project. The boost is going to be far too low to worry about it.

heres a good way to remember, boost forces more air in to the cylinder rather then vacuum created by the 14.6 PSI atomosphere pressure, with a high compressing engine you yare compressing the the mixture more, and if you have boost that like have high compresson now both would be too high psi and you would blow your car up

I believe it is 14.7 PSI atmospheric pressure at sea level. :N

Allright, since were getting technical here...... (Without using google) What is the ideal Stoichiometric ratio for naturally aspirated gasoline burning engines?
