Son hit a curb with our Continental.
:eek2:
Son does not drive this car any more.
:L
We have fixed the easy stuff,
but have been told we must take it into the shop
for a computer hook-up, which will reset the codes
and cost at least $150.

Is it essential to have this done?

I don't think you need to do this,to clear out the codes, just Disconnect the battery. I had a check engine light on my mark and all I did was disconnect the battery to clear the codes.

what year continental if it,s 95 or newer you might have to aspecialy if it,s been on for a long time couse it,s in the hard computer but 150 dollars no way the dealer ship wouldn,t even charg that mouch the would char about an houre labor if that

Thanks for the feedback.
:monkey:
We'll disconnect the battery and see if it works.
I'll let you know. {:O)

Yesterday we lost our suspension
after going over a railroad crossing.
It's amazing how 28 m.p.h. can do that...
:steering
We sheered the plastic air line
at the front passenger wheel.

A quick stop at Pep Boys,
$1.17 for a brass fitting,
and a few minutes later
and we were fixed up.

i had a 91 a few years ago i never had to clear the code on that car when something would hapen to the air suspension it should just reset it,s self when it sees that it,s working i think

bigdog,
I believe you're right!
After we fixed the broken line
it seems like all four sides are even!
So cool!
Thanks for the encouragement.
I think sometimes when things break
it's just the step needed to fix it right.
