I remember when I first purchased my car that someone told me about the switch lowering thing, but I can't remember who i should pm about purchasing the $35 part. Is the switch reversable? Meaning if you don't want to have the "dropped" look when the car is parked, can u switch the switch to get it back to stock, or once u have the switch, your stuck like that forever unless u remove it? Anyone know for sure?

thanks,
scott

Ray is the man to talk to. And when you hit this switch, the car drops and will stay dropped until you start the car again. Once you start the car, it will automatically go back up to regular height.

is "ray" his screename? If not, what is it? Also does that mean if you don't turn the switch on, it will go back to default and be normal again, so u can do it both ways?

thanks,
scott

The way it works is that you push the button and it lets the air out of the air bags and it lowers. When you start the car again it goes back to normal. If you don't push the switch the car works like it does normaly. The best of both worlds you can lower when you park to show off or just drive at like you always do.

Hey Markviiiedrea, would you mind revealing how you went about "dechroming" your car, it's something I've always wanted to do to mine... just curious if you knew any tips or tricks that might help me out whenever I get around to doing mine... thanks

P.S. yes, ALL the switch does is let the air out of the airbags, and it will stay that way until you shut off, and restart the car again. If you do not hit the switch, the car will stay the same "average joe" as it was before. The main use of the switch is to just have that killer parking lot stance and it is not recommended to drive it like that, unless you're Ray (1wykdmk8) and just drive it anyway lowered because you can't get enough of it (LOL!). But if you are driving and hit the switch, the only way to get the car to return to its normal height is to park somewhere and shut the car off, and turn it back on. The car will ALWAYS return itself automatically to normal height upon starting the car.

All the switch is doing is holding the solenoid for the air valves, when you hit it, it keeps a constant 12v on the solenoids to let al the air out of the bag, the front will drop first cause of the 4.6DOHC helps a little, the back just takes a little longer.

As far as the monochromatic, just sand like a mad man! I sanded the chrome out of the strip around the car, removed all the badges, filled in the holes from them, pulled out all the dents and smoothed out the scratches. The trim and grill you just need to use the right echer for the paint to stick properly. The front emblem was taken off with a dremel and filled in. nothing real hard just allot of time. The paint I have on there is shi ty its a Dupont Persian black. I suggest PPG or house of kolors. Just take your time and do it right.

If you get close you see where mine need to be fixed. After paint wait a month than wet sand, rubbing compound and Zano, allot of Zano!
