Wheel Bearing you can hear when you go around curves... You will have a slight grind noise curve in the direction of the bad bearing. Plus you can get a wobble sensation also, kind of like a bad rotor than needs to be spun or replaced.
I'd like to know about the caliper also... how do you know when they are going bad. I'm doing my brakes next weekend.. got the pads just need the few minutes to change them and have the rotors spun.
Easiest thing to replace 5 min job... Bearing cost about $80-$100 for the kit.
for me persoanlly, the only caliper failiure sympton i have eve had was that the caliper would stick and drag the pads, causing heat and quick pad wear,i have had this happen on a few of my cars over the years, other than that,i havent heard of other caliper failure symptoms.
The heat from the calipers sticking will warp the rotor badly if left too long. Plus you get that lovely smell, and if you get real lucky you'll see the smoke or steam. All of these parts have gotten less expensive and I've had to redo the brakes prematurely from not having replaced them before, I'd put on new rotors and loaded calipers as a matter of course, especially since these cars are known to warp the rotors.
Usually whan a caliper goes bad, the piston will seize, either not letting the pads apply or release.- if the car pulls hard to the right when braking, the left front caliper is suspect & vice versa.
