The company I work for builds some cool stuff - our newest military vehicle is the Tac-V.

It is meant to be deployed out of an Osprey- there were a lot of concerns about weight, weight distribution, flexibility, etc.

It has to go like a bat out of he!! over extremely rough terrain, up and down steps really fast, be able to go sideways on a 40 degree slope, and hit dirt roads at over 90 mph.

It is all modular - the side panels come off - they are hollow and can be fitted with armor, the roll bars can be removed or folded, it has to carry 1.5 tons in the bed.

The suspension travel is awesome - the a-arms actually cross over in the center of the vehicle.

Black Ops wanted one really, really bad - we only have the one prototype which is making the rounds, so this one can't be sold. However, we did find out their pockets weren't quite deep enough for us to build them another prototype...

When the video is approved for 'general' consumption I'll post it too...

And yes, I've been able to play...:)

IED's, I think will be the Achilles' heel to that vehicle. Too much room in the wheel wells... and understandably so. This is where the problem lies with all vehicles of this type.

Now, I know, it was developed for off road, rough terrain. But so were the H1's, (predominantly) and look where they are using them nowadays.

Nevertheless, it's a cool looking Vehicle. Maybe I'll get to play with one one of these years.

Well, the underside and the wheel wells are as clean as we can make them, so they are suppose to be able to easily detect/see explosive devices...

It is fun.

I am not really good with the drivetrain stuff (I know suspensions)... But if I remember it has to do with the depth of water it has to be able to traverse. And they needed it behind the rear wheels for some reason - I could find out...

hope they really dont stay with with the km2's (tire) even tho a prototype very poor choice of tire... dont need stranded soldiers, other than that very awesome!! love the d-ring shackles on the side too! and nice peep of the powerplant

I don't get how that would matter... dipped many a tail pipe below the water line with no ill effects...

We have to hold it in the water, and even stop and back it up - over rocks and stuff, I guess that might be a reason - so it won't have water back up in the tail pipe?

Don't know about the tires - the D rings are to hold it in the Osprey...

I'll hold you in the water and stop/back you up ;-)

Over rocks and stuff too......but doubt I'd get water backed up in your tailpipe....not my cup of tea :p

Effing Sweet!!!

Im calling my buddy at Macdill... see whats he's heard about this...

So, if you want to see our baby- it will be at the SEMA show - booth #20715, along with a really cool looking military themed CRX (I know, ricer - but we sell a ton of stuff to that market, and once I get the photos from Killer Paint with the final spray I'll post them - it is quite the little car).

Now, we just have to convince the guys at SEMA to let us mount the 50 Cals on the Tac-V. Our after show parties at our Tiki Bar and Lounge in the booth (otherwise known as the storage closet) could take on a whole new meaning ;)

Pete!?:slap: That Tac-V looks bad azz! Like to see some video of it in action. Maybe some more shots of the suspension too. I'll have to try to make it to SEMA this year. Keep trying to get the 50's on it for the show.

Just got word - we do get to have the 50 Cals on the vehicle :). I think we are renaming the Tiki Lounge to be the Baghdad Bar and Grill this year... ;)

Some 26" spinnas with 5 or 6 15" subs in the back and some chrome.... itd be teh next pimp mobile. :D

So whats the competition making?
