tape deck question

it might sound odd, but when im listening to my ipod and i have it paused or the music playing low, i hear i whine that seems to get higher pitched as i get into the higher rpm ranges. does anyone know of a cause and a solution. thanks guys.

Engine noise! really nothing you can do about it. maybe try grounding the deck better but thats about it. are you using one of those tape to 1/8th cables?

There are inline filters....................

There are inline filters that can be used in the powerline that will all but eliminate the alternator or ignition drone that is sometimes picked up through the radio. The last ones that I bought came from radioshack.
