I finally got my K&N Typhoon Intake in the other day. I installed it (replacing my KKM). It definitely makes a difference and sounds better than the KKM or stock. It has been on backorder since May and I finally got it! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Here is a Picture of my old STOCK 2003 V8 LS Intake:

FYI My 1 year old KKM intake is for sale...

Looks good. K&N is way behind on orders for those things. They just started shipping my pending orders this past week. They shipped two more today. I think they didn't believe they would have this many orders for them. From what I have been told they had to manufacturer them since they didn't have any in stock. Let us know how it performs over the KKM. I'm a little doubful it will be much if any.

Thats because they marketed this to the Tbird instead of the LS. The demand from the LS market (now that the cat is out of the bag) is outstripping their forecast for the Tbird Market. I think they need to be made aware that this is a perfect fit in the 2003 and newer 3.9 V8 LS and then tehy will see a larger market and hopefully increase production. Of course I have mine now so why do i care ? :D

Any news on the Magnaflow Cat Back that we heard about? Sounds like they have decided to go into production with Ton'y prototype after all...

It looks great. That was going to be my next purchase, but I decided on the Xcal instead. I don't know which would improve the cars performance more but K&N is definitely next on my list unless your willing to deal on the KKM.

My Magnaflow rep is telling me another 4 weeks. Also, they said that the unit they prototyped on Tony's car will be different. He didn't say by what but it is different. I guess they found something that is better. We'll have to wait and see.

Any idea how much the new cat back will cost?
Magnaflow has not released MSRP yet but if I had to guess it will be around the $900 range.

I put some more miles on it today. THis new intake ROCKS. I like the power and sound better than the KKM. Obviuosly a lot of the baffles were still there with the KKM. It defienitely feels stronger.

The difference from stock to the K&N will be a lot more...

Kelleyo, I see that you have about every mod you can do. Do you have any timeslips? Maybe some before the K&N install and after the install? How do you feel your car performs in acceleration and handling compared to a stock 03 V8 LS?

The mufflers did nothing except make it sound sweet. The 2 mods that make he most different in acceleration is the SCT xcal and the intake. The springs and Toyo TR4 tires have improved handling quite a bit. I will get he Magnaflow cat back when it is released.

I do not have any before/after timeslips but I can tell you my car is a lot faster than it was stock. The Xcal probably had the most effect since it has improved off the line and shifting characteristics so much.
