Tech help doesn't show how to remove cup holder on Gen 1

Hey guys, just need to know where to look to find some pics or instruction to remove the cup holder and ash tray. I'm planning on painting them cause there peeling.

I might be wrong, but the only way I know of involves removing the entire center console. The cupholder/ashtray can be removed from the bottom.

You have to remove the trim from the AC controls, and there are two screws there. The plastic part around the shifte lifts out. There is another screw in the arm rest compartment. The whole console should lift right up and over. You have to turn the console upsidedown to access the bolts from underneath to get the cupholder/ashtray out.
