What temp is the engine at when the needle is at the far lower part of the Normal range?

you got a 180 tstat, so watch your gauge climb and when it starts falling i guess its at 180 or your fan kicked on

Actually right now i'm running with no thermostat at all...

is that ok? cuz i was thinking of doing that.

Yea the engine runs really cool all the time. It takes longer to warm up but since I have a manual fan switch I just don't turn on the fan for a while.

is that why a 160deg t-stat is good?

I have researched this and was told this...

N
-240
O
-
R
-225
M
-
A
-185
L

I have recorded this...

|---
| N-
| O-
| R-215
| M-205
| A_180
| L
|---160

This is probably valid only for Gen1s as I have heard the Gen2s are different.

The fan normally turns on at 215* and turns off at 205*(without AC).

Anywhere from 160 to 180 degrees is the perfect operating temp. for a fuel injected engine.

I have a bypass circuit for the cooling fan I use at the track. I 'upgraded' it by adding a programmable controller so I wouldn't have to manually turn the fan on and off. I set the ON temp to 180* and the OFF temp to 165*. I have a 160* T-stat. :D
