I just read and saw a Mclaren LSE, it was posted on this web site. I was wondering if anyone out there has come across one? Are all LSE's from Mclaren? How fast does the computer let it go too.
I am about to purchase my second LS and it is an LSE. is this one a Mclaren LSE? (I hope so). Any info anyone may have would be appreciated. I know that they sell parts for LS's but this article implied that he was doing something like what Caroll Shelby did for mustang.

The mclaren lse was supposed to be supercharged, but it was never finished. Only show items are on it such as the grill, wheels, and some other stuff.

They did scrap the McLaren LS idea. Here is what I ran across as to why:

"Although it was planned to be put into production with 380hp and a 6-speed manual for the 2003 model year, McLaren could not get enough dealer support for the manual transmission, and the relationship between McLaren and Lincoln fell apart. "

yeah probably because lincoln... or mostly ford, got scared that if mclaren would produce these cars, ford would get a $hit fit. because it would take sales away from jaguar.

Ford would not share the PCM codes - and so they could never get the supercharger working. They car was actually sold on e-bay about 2yrs ago with the supercharger in the trunk.

This is the same issue SVC has all these years.

It wasn't until SCT was able to reverse engineer the PCM was any of this possible.

I wonder why McLaren could reverse engineer it, seems like they would be able to easier than SCT. But in reality they probably figured that if Lincoln wasn't willing to work with them, hen why bother at all. Shame...
