I got a little bored tonight, so i went down to home depot and got a flexable piece of 3" dryer duct. (and i zip tied the hell out of it. No rubbing, no scraping, and a definate noticable increase in power. There will definatly be some more alterations to the design, but IT WORKS! Starting at 60 you can start to notice a diffrence, but crusin at 80 is awesome, and pulling from 80-120 just doesnt stop. There is some serious advantages at that speed.

Take it from someone who has a March Ram Air kit on their car - they suck up more :q:q:q:q than you can imagine.

Watch yourself driving in the rain, too.

oh hell yes, i already got a cap for the rain. and no...not a shower cap :p

Sorry man. Lame. At least put the hose from the dryer inside the lower bumper valance. Using it as a cow catcher is not the best idea.

You should route that directly behind the grille. It would definitely get enough air there, and the grille should hide its prescence, especially if you paint it black.

Oh I know it works first hand! We tried to get this started about 4 years ago. Worked great, not enough interest to produce.

They say......................

You get 1 HP for every 10 degree reduction in intake air temperature. Good ideal mr wilson, bad design, but good ideal. Geno, how much interest would it take to ressurect that plan, and do you still have the prototype around? And is it for sale??

and when your intake is pulling 120 deg from the box, vs hell even 80 deg outside, your makin 4 more hp, not to mention the added power from the ramming effect at high speeds, and even 4 hp for $10 is the best power:doller iv ever seen. (now think...what if its 100 under hood, and...20 outside, thats 8 hp. thats almost a 1:1 ratio....pritty good IMO.

im definatly redoing it this week, something a little more sophisticated, i just did this cuz i was wondering if the idea would even work, and now that i know it actually does, im gonna go full throttle at it. The lower bumper thing is what i was planning, and i love genos idea, but im sure it will never be reserected because everyone says I WANT I WANT, but no one ponys up when they get it.

I remember doing something similar to my 1st car... a 89 Supra Turbo automatic... it worked a little bit but there are better mods you can do to improve performance on that car and on the Mark VIII...

why would you get rid of such a beautiful car?

It wasn't that fast, a good running stock Mark VIII is definately faster.

well im taking it off, cuz its working way too well. from @52-78/82 the car has a real bad hesitation when crusing, because its getting air shoved down its throat that it does not need, but when it gets to 82 and cruses, it could use the extra air and it smooths right out. its absolutely amazing when flooring it though, but i dont want to have to be flooring it or going 90 to be able to keep this thing, so im just gonna keep it in my bag of tricks for the track...and oh yea, im so going to make it bigger and better!
