Well lets see how should i start this:

The day started off good, it was my last day of college i was graduating with an AOS degree. So i handed in everything took my last final and was off to chillax the rest of the day. Well on my way out the parking lot, me the hot shot i am, peeled out and guess what a COP catches me. FUC. So i get 2 tickets, unsafe start and no signal (i did signal but he didnt see it) So im pissed off already :Bang , so im heading home down a busy turnpke and im behind a van, well the van cuts someone off and at the last second i see that my lane is closed due to construction, so i look in my mirror to turn and BOOM i get my whole back left side fuc'd up by a fed ex truck who was in my blind spot ( i know i sound stupid but he really was in my blind spot). My suspension is gone and my rim is all scrated. Now im really pissed. What a way to end my 2 yrs of hell in the crapiest college. No damage to him but i get 4700 reasons to be pissed. and the worst part i got no car for the next 3 weeks, the love of my life GONE. but on the bright side, when my car comes out it will be pristine no scrates my body shop guy will fix everything, even scratches not from the accident. Anyway heres some pics of the accident, :(

Sounds pretty rough, good thing you're still alive. Busy turnpikes and wrecks lead to pretty bad injuries. I think your day went better than you realize. :Beer

Damn man, I know how you feel. I'm taking finals now, you just want to get out and drive like an :q:q:q:q:q:q:q all day. I didn't know you had boze wheels.

yea i dropped alot of money into the car recently havent taken pics yet, dont wanna show it till its done fully on the outside, but wanted to show you guys this.

No worries about the car man. Just think about it. You just graduated. Cars can be replaced. Best of luck to your success in the future.

-- Don't sweat the small stuff, cause its all small stuff. --

(I know I'd be just as upset if I were in your shoes... but ya just gotta get past it!)

Man, I hate to see that! Good thing you weren't hurt.

The rim is not as bad as what you said. Boze can repair that rim for a lot less than buying a new one. Email me and I'll give you the details.

The Reason I Now Own an LS.

Your damn lucky you didn't kill somebody else, much less, yourself....

Some idiot did what you did to my pregnant wife and I in March. We were driving much less of a vehicle than a FedEx truck...

Similar situation, except the guy that hit us was entering the freeway, my wife was driving, she swerved to avoid him, he hit us anyway. The impact shot us into the concrete median at about 60mph, then we bounced off of that back across 3 lanes of traffic, coming to a stop on the right shoulder.

Yes, it was totaled.

3 days of missed work (x2), a month of sore-ness and 7k+ in medical bills later, I bought the LS for my wife. We are STILL waiting on the insurance to pay the medical bills, lost wages etc.

Just do me a favor, check your blind spot and drive carefully.

Damn!! That sucks. Makes you wish you never got out of bed this morning.

Kids. You have yet to experience the worst day of your life. No sorry feelings here. The results you achieved were directly related to your bone headed decisions. Slow Down.

Well first of all we were going about 10 mph so i wasnt going fast (thats about the 10th time i said that to someone), second it was a dumb mistake on my part and ive taken a sh!t load of grief so its not like i dont regret it. And yes i am lucky i didnt hit anyone in a car or i would be really pissed. Anyway the police report is showing that it was a rear end collision so i think he is taking most of the fault on this accident, the police said he had enough time to see me change lanes and i was in front of him so he could have let me go but he sped up to cut me off. So in a nut shell it WASNT all MY FAULT!!!!! But yes all of you are right in some ways.

Not a good way to end finals. Glad you're OK. I like your wheels -- I hope they can be fixed.

BTW, what's an AOS degree? I spent a lot of time in college, and my wife is a professor, but I've never heard of that one.

If the damage was worse or my car totaled yes i would be sueing for as much as i can or enough to buy me 10 LS's. but i dont wanna wait months and months for probably very little money. and yes the AOS degree is Accociates of science, i went to Braircliffe College in Bethpage, Long Island. I would never go again even for free. LOL. and i majored in Network Admin. But im changing majors and going to school for my job. But untill i get my baby back ill be pretty bummed out.

Might be the first time I agree with you!;) Dont feel too bad guy. Last week while pulling my 15 seater passenger van in the driveway I went to brake and my sandal was stuck on the gas pedal. Slammed into the back of our minivan. Damage wasnt too bad but talk about feeling bad and stupid!

The LS does have a blind spot.
Every car has blind spots--that why you turn your head to check them before making a lane change. There are a whole bunch of other cars with much worse blind spots than the LS.

It helps to set your mirrors appropriately--changing the driver's side mirror to cover the driver's side blind spot would probably have kept him out of this mess. There's a thread around here somewhere about how to set your outside mirrors for optimal coverage; most people have their driver's-side mirror and rear-view mirrors set to overlap too much, which is wasting most of one of them.

I always set my outside mirrors by sitting in my normal driving position to set the vertical coverage, then lean over until my head touches the glass (or, in the LS, the roof where it meets the door). In that position, I adjust the mirror horizontally until I can just see the edge of the car in the mirror, and, voila, I don't have to turn my head to see anything in my driver's side blind spot because the mirror now covers it..

AMEN! I have this converstation with my wife all of the time. Her setting in the LS, she is looking at theside of the car and what is behind her with her side view mirrors. I tell her that is what the rear view mirror is for. You shouldn't be able to see the side of your car from your side view mirrors, you should have to crane you neck to see the side of your car. Whenever I get a new car, I go to a parking lot and position my car between two cars that woudl be in my blind spot, then adjust my mirrors accordingly.

When i say slow down i am not entirely meaning your actual speed. Too many people rush around without paying attention. Car in front is too slow, change lanes, dont like new lane, change back....that kinda stuff. And dont get me started on cell phones. A lady on the highway cut me off and i layed on the horn next to her for atleast 30 seconds because she had a phone glued to her ear. Another time i hear tires skidding and a woman in a Explorer has her brakes locked while she slides across two lanes. When she finally stops she has a phone up to her ear. Dumb b!tches. But seriously...too many distractions in cars nowadays, especially you kids.
