Ok, Caddy guys, I've always wanted a 90's Eldorado...

I looking at a couple right now... What so I look out for?

any years that had major or even minor problems?

What the mpg like?

Any help would be appriciated!

Ive never heard of any problems with them.Ive heard a fews stories about the Northstars but I have never had a problem with any of mine.MPG should be around 22/26.

93 has 300 hp, 94 on was 270 hp . It seems that the head gasket problem shows up most on 97 and 98 engines. Other than that, go for it!

Having owned mostly older vehicles (76 Chevy Truck, 79 Lincoln Continental, 82 Eldorado) I will tell you this much... Check ALL the electronics... My main problem in owning these vehicles has ALWAYS been the 'luxury' items... Power windows, power doors, power locks, cruise control... In the 90 Eldorado I'd also say to make sure the dash is operating right too... With both my Lincoln and my current Cadi I had MAJOR issues with fixing this stuff... Figuring out if it's a wiring, fuses, motors, computers... Very time consuming and frustrating, plus hunting down replacement parts can be hard as hell too...

I'm about to have to sink about $1,500 into motors alone, and that's not including putting them in...

As far as engine goes, I've never had or seen any major mechanical issues with them. A few of my friends and I were sporting around in various Cadi's for a few years (84 Eldo, 88 Eldo, 91 Brougham), and none of us ever had any major issues with the engines, aside from the usual wear and tear that comes with age and use...

Errr... no.

The ETC has a 295 HP engine which was probably boosted to 300 in '99. The ELC has a 275 HP engine.

The headgasket problem is only something you need to be concerned about with Sevilles -- Eldorados are very reliable and fun.

The MPG, however... I suppose it depends on how you drive but a '97 is rated at 17-26, but I get about 16.4 (I generally kick it off pretty hard when I'm going from a complete stop though.)

Anyway, :C and really recommend buying an Eldo -- they're great!
