Greetings,

As an owner of a 2002 Lincoln LS I have experienced many of the same trials and tribulations that I have been reading here. It seems that Ford is not supporting this vehicle, the dealerships are the WORST. The mechanics are barely parts replacers, who don’t seem to know anything about this car. The only reason that I had let them work on the car was the first 50,000 mile of maintenance was included, and they provided a loaner car for the sake of convenience. I must have put 2,000 miles on the loaner cars, but they really never fixed anything.

It seems that the dealers don’t listen to your complaints, or they have stock answers like: this is a very complicated vehicle, or they can’t “duplicate” the problem, or there really isn’t anything wrong, because that was the way the component was designed, or my favorite, Ford won’t let us make the adjustment, but you are free to pay for us to do it.

This is a shame, since this is a really nice car, but Ford needs to make a commitment to satisfy the customers by building a quality vehicle and train people to fix them the first time, or it will lose their customer base. I think Ford has already made the decision to let the Lincoln name plate drop off of the short list of prestige American automobiles, this is a shame. Thanks for letting me vent.

Amen from the choir! I have had great use and better care of both my Nissans. I will drive this car till the wheels fall off but it will be a mighty long time before I set foot on any dealership that is branded by Ford.

I have logged over 30 major repair visits on my lincoln 13 by the time I had hit 45k miles. My Altima has 40k now and 0 repairs. My 350 is leased and goes back at the end of the month with 32k miles and not a problem at all. I hope my local Nissan dealer has the same quality product and customer service when I shop for my next automobile.

Not only do we gouged at the point of purchase but they continue to gouge us in the years that follow. Honestly, I am nervous everytime I start my car and drive it.

EL, I really don't see this. I know you take your car to Courtesy like I do. They take very good care of me, and fix my problem the first time. This is the second Lincoln I bought from them, and I will buy another. Nissan on the other hand and I mean the old N.O.B. sucked. We had a couple of Nissan's years ago, I couldn't get them to do anything. And they were mostly stupid repairs. I fought with the Nissan factory several time. They don't stand behind their products at all. They don't believe in loaners, and it goes deeper than that. If we ever get together for a beer, I'll ellaborate more. Just remember there are no perfect cars. Also with Nissan ( I won't buy French ) and there owned by Renault. Another POS

The first dealer i used was Northgate LM off of Florida Ave. I actually have a better relationship with Courtesy but have had to bend over 720 degrees for them so that they got the work done right not the first or second time but even the third. I have since befriended a senior tech there and get better treatment now but folks shouldnt have to go through these things. We shopped NOB in Dec 2002 and bout my wifes Altima. The car and service has been top notch. I'd give a up my access to a loaner any day for a car that I can count on being there for me.

I just have no confidence in the LS and with the dealers. I do understand they are under a lot of undo presure from the factory to not perform a certain amount of warranty work. Believe it or not FLM does not want dealers to do warranty work. Which explains the stiff shoulder you get when you try to call Ford customer service.

Do some browsing on the web about it. Or visit flatratetech.com . The very company that kills the value of this vehicle all kills the the quality of servie we get from our local dealers. The hold money from the dealers, try to renegotiate on fees for shop hours that are already too lean to do most work, then the have the audacity to audit the dealer if they so choose and can in a sense fine them. This is what we pay for.

I ownd a renault a looong time ago... Yeah it :q ing sucked.

I will be out of town this weekend... headed over to Orlando with the family. We will get that beer soon. Lord knows I need it. I got stuck in the i75 mess the other day coming back from Sarasota. A 45 minute drive home turned in to 2.5 hours. Better late than never though. Oddly it was a Tbird and a town car that caused the mess.

My local Ford Dealer treats me like Crap. I wouldn't wiz on them to put the fire out.

My local Lincoln Dealership has taken very good care of ma though and has been able to address any issues I may have quickly and effectively.

Sorry to hear you have had such problems

I think we all should expect problems if you don't you are really are in for a ride but the outright poor treatment a lack of attention to recurring problems is troubling.

I work with software and have very realistic expectation of all things being a designer and troubleshooter. My ownership experices have solidly tested my tolerance and thusly have destroyed 20 years of brand loyalty. It isn't just the car it is the total experience I have had the last 5 years both as a warranty repair customer and out of pocket repair customer.
