Greetings,
As an owner of a 2002 Lincoln LS I have experienced many of the same trials and tribulations that I have been reading here. It seems that Ford is not supporting this vehicle, the dealerships are the WORST. The mechanics are barely parts replacers, who don’t seem to know anything about this car. The only reason that I had let them work on the car was the first 50,000 mile of maintenance was included, and they provided a loaner car for the sake of convenience. I must have put 2,000 miles on the loaner cars, but they really never fixed anything.
It seems that the dealers don’t listen to your complaints, or they have stock answers like: this is a very complicated vehicle, or they can’t “duplicate” the problem, or there really isn’t anything wrong, because that was the way the component was designed, or my favorite, Ford won’t let us make the adjustment, but you are free to pay for us to do it.
This is a shame, since this is a really nice car, but Ford needs to make a commitment to satisfy the customers by building a quality vehicle and train people to fix them the first time, or it will lose their customer base. I think Ford has already made the decision to let the Lincoln name plate drop off of the short list of prestige American automobiles, this is a shame. Thanks for letting me vent.
