I have been wanting to take my blue 02 ls 8 w/ only 28k in for service, and what better time to take it in when i have a week off from teaching this week. I am taking it in on Thurs.
This is a list of things that I want fixed... I told the guy that I have a list and he said it was ok.

Tranny shifts/jerks when taking the car out of park(either to go in r or D)

Advance Trac goes on when it is bitterly cold, but goes off when shut off and started up again

I told them a little lie, but i said that it sometimes has a hard time cranking over, I'm thinking maybe they can check the coils- i'm nit picking, but hey maybe there is oil just starting to come in and it can get fixed.

My driver side window goes up slow and sometimes makes some weird noises

Passenger lumbar does not work.

I hope this is not to much to do, but i figured that since Im taking it in why not get it all done at once. I figured since the coils tend to go bad i can have them check them. My warranty is up in august so i want to get everything fixed before warranty is up.

If there is anything that you can suggest or remind me of please let me know.

With it being so cold up there in NY and with all the snow have them check your steering bushings as well. They might be getting worn and start creaking.

your window problem is probably due to the cold weather... the one winter i had my LS on the road here in Syracuse, the damn window fell off track... i think everything stops working great when the weather is cold...

You should take the car in earlier than Thursday, it might take them a few days. They might have to order some parts or the mechanic might get sick, like what happened to someone else here (on another thread.)

I have the same problem with my tranny... that sh!t jerks everytime I go to reverse or drive.. i took it in a couple of times and them b!tches didn't do sh!t.. it's still doing the same thing...let me know what they say about yours bro.

I called yesterday and the earliest they could get me in was Thurs. I will definitely take my car and have them look at the bushings. Is there something i should be looking for to know if its wearing out.

For the bushings just turn your steering wheel and hear for any type of squeaking(like metal on metal none lubricated) On the window issue it is probably your window regulator it's also a common problem. Does it make a clunking noise?

I don't hear a clunking noise in the window, but it moves slow even when it is warmer. I don't think i hear a noise in the steering, but i will definitely listen more closely. The main thing that i want fixed is the jerk going from Park to reverse or drive.

Check the "california lemon law" post. Dsoul27 is having the same problem there are some good headstart points to check there for your tranny problem. Good luck with getting it fixed.
