I have developed some sort of need for speed all of a sudden. I havve never owned a 2 dr sports car, always a family type sedan. But this damn V8 has gotten me 2 tickets in about 6 weeks apart. I am really trying to slow down but I think this car is made for a little faster driving, I mean dang, it cruises at about 80-85 and feels like most cars at about 55-60. When I 1st bought my 2000 V8 I found alll the faults with it and almost hated it but have since then fixed a few of the twirks and am really starting to appreciate it for what it is, one PHATass smooth ride. I have this friend of mine who because I like a little speed thinks he can take me with his 96' cadillac seville (or somoething like it) and I keep telling this fool that he cant win and I don't have a sports car, find someone who has something to prove, I just like the ride for it's power and comfort combined.., not because I think I am driving a rocket..... just thought I'd share with the enthusiasts......:Beer

Agreed, the trick is to set the cruise control and get you damn foot off the gas, as I've learned. Unlike a lot of other cars, when you leave your foot on the gas it still accelerates like crazy.

i been trying to drive and keeping the RPM's under 3000... its kind of hard to do, but ive made a little game with it haha sometimes i do 3000 and sometimes its too hard and i try and keep it under 4000 :shifty:

you just described my econamy mode and so long as I can keep down the urge to hear that V8 screeem at WOT it works well

Haha, I remember reading about someone on here keeping their RPM under 2,000... so I've been doing that pretty much ever since... most of the time, anyway.

Before I came to France, I got two speeding tickets within a month of eachother, both for going 60+ on a 40... (although that's not that bad) and on the same street, no less... haha but that's cause I've always been a "habitual speeder."

What really sux about these cars is that you can be speeding and not know it thats all of my speeding tickets, now if i was speeding intentionally and got caught i would be ok with it but the fact that i didnt know and i got pulled over pisses me off. so just to teach me a lesson I've created this little equation:

Lincoln LS = Speed + Adrenilin - Traffic = Fun = Flashing Lights + A$$hole Cop + Ticket = Court = Fine - Money = ME BROKE!!

So ive decided i will look at my odometer every one an a while and when theres no one around then i will push the pedal to the floor and with a big smile on my face fly down the road!!

Under 3000 huh? LOL in 5th? Wouldn't you be doin...over 100?? LOL your a character. if you are under 2000, then it's like under 60-65 mph.
