I have seperated the TC from the retainer plate but I cannot get it off the TB, throttle body, can someone give me some info on how it comes off?

well I see why they say 100k miles for spark plug changes. Jeez that was too much fun to have to do every 30k, 50k or 99k miles. But I could tell a BIG difference in pickup.

I'd like to thank everyone that replied to my post LOL!

I ended up leaving the TC connected to the TB. The TB had some serious build up on so I cleaned it out, inspected my VC gaskets on the RH side. I will save inspecting and resealing the valve cover gaskets on the LH for another rainy day.

the end of the cable just 'pops' off, and the cable turns and lifts out of the mount.

I couldnt get the cable out of the end but I was able to seperate it from the bracket. I didnt want to twist or pull on it too hard in fear of braking the cable. I was able to get my task done with it attached so I am not complaining. Well I am complaining about the plug change GREAT SCOTT what a paint in the :q that was.

I imagine after doing it 2 or three times it wont be that much trouble. I did have one vaccum hose I didnt know came loose and that set me back about 45 minutes trying to find it. I think it was the EGR actuator not the EGR valve. It actually had two hoses together very small.

All is well now though. I wanted to get some new plugs in before my visit to Dr Torrie the tune master tomorrow. The plugs made a big big difference.

good for you.

Say hi to Torrie for me - I was test mule #1. :headbang:

He is testing on me too. Not sure what I am in store for but I am looking forward to the occasion. He said he is going to tune the pcm for power then we are going to do some driving to test out some of the tranny tuning for shift points..

I'll be sure to convey your regards.

I really wanted to photo document the job but it was all last minute and my wife was at work. She would have been the camera operator. But after going through it with the shop manual; I am confident that anyone else can do the job with the same resources.
