Hello everyone! I am a proud new owner of an 06 LS and am happy to be a part of this community. :)

First thing I want to do is get a nice K&N filter for this ride. I want to make sure I get the right one and on the "REAL LS owner's guide" thread it was mentioned that the Thunderbird intake works. I just want to make sure that this is the product I want before I drop $300.

Thanks in advance fellas!

Congratulations on your purchase, and yes that is the one, see my signature.

I have the chrome version and yes it's great.

Shop around. I think I paid around $222 for my 03 TBird

They are cheaper than that on ebay and dont take years to ship.

The 57-2562 is available on Amazon for $224.95 with free shipping. With that info, call Autoanything and they will beat the Amazon price by $10 including free shipping.

Hmm, there are a couple more options on the lskoncepts page, which would you fellers recommend? The aircharger or typhoon?

Its the same thing just up to you whether you like the subduded or the polished look.

i like polished:

I'd go with whatever costs less. Function before form, and chrome won't help you do anything but look better standing still :)

At least that's my 2-cents. To each their own. I say get what you like.

Yes they do. The KKM is just a cone filter but these both come with heatshields.

You guys are an awesome help, thanks!

One LAST question (we hope):
The factory tube has a few plugs and wires connected to it that I don't see a place for with the K&N. Will installing one of these mess with my computer? Any weird oxygen issues or check engine lights?

Thanks again guys, you are awesome. Hope you don't mind 20 questions. :D

there is a place for you to remove the air sensor from the factory tube and to place it on the K&n tube.

Everything hooks right up just follow the instructions. Since you use oil on the filter it may result in the need to periodically clean the Mass Air Sensor but I have never had to do that in two years of use with my K&N.

+1 and it comes with trim to length hoses for the two lines that go on the intake tube.

God point. If your not used to cleaning reoiling them it's easy to use to much oil and dirty the MAF quick.

Ah, maybe the pics I was looking at were too blurry to see the hoses. Thanks again! I'll be ordering one of these bad boys very soon!

These are all for V8 is there a similar for the V6? Anyone out there with a V6 that has similar intake?

The Duratec 3.0 V6 thats in the LS was and still is (although a retuned 3.5L version) a staple of the Ford/Lincoln drivetrain line up. Im not sure if theyre compatible but the layout is the same you may want to look into Ford Taurus/Mercury Sable intake solutions of the same year.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THAT WEBSITE!!!!!! Don't waste your time dealing with ken. They'll take your money and you'll never get you're product. Seach the forums and you'll see.

I got my Chrome K&N CAI, from LSK. However it took me 3 1/2 months and endless emails and threats.

I absolutely love my intake and It's totally worth the money. Sounds great too.
