So, I'm in the process of replacing my factory THX Nav with a aftermarket double din. I've got everything going so far, except I completely forgot that the park assist mutes (or atleast lowers to almost muted) the volume so you can hear the beeping. Now, my radio does have a mute wire for in-car phones so if I can find a wire to hook it up too I will be all set. The problem is I cant lol. Ive looked through all the connector diagrams I used to wire the harness in but theres no mute wire for the radio so I'm not sure if this is done over CAN or not. I'm sure I can find a diagram to the park assist and wire something together from there but I cant get to the diagrams until I got to work. Just seeing if anyone else has solved this problem.

My 06 has park assist and did have THX nav. The nav never muted or attenuated when the park assist was beeping. It couldn't have. There was no signal to it to allow it do so. (The THX nav did not use the car's data bus, unlike the other radios.)

Still, I agree that it could be a good feature to have. The aftermarket that I put in has a setting to attenuate the audio when the car is in reverse. I have that set.

Thats odd, mine most definitely does (did) mute. Mine is an 04, THX nav, idk if there is a difference in wiring as I didnt have time to look it up. I'll try to get to it tomorrow. I thought the steering wheel controls where through can bus

No, they are through a single analog signal wire.
The RAP (Retained Accessory Power) is via the CAN bus for the other radios, but for the THX, it's actually a discrete on/off signal wire run to the head unit. The good news there is that you won't lose that feature when you go to aftermarket.

The wiring diagrams do show a mute out wire from the parking module. It didn't work for me, but apparently yours must. It's white with red stripe, pin 3 of the connector at the parking module. It should run up to the radio.

Yep it does, I was messing with it today and found pin 20 of the power connector, white/red wire. Hooked it up to my mate wire and works like factory. Thanks for the help
