OK so I ordered my new rotors and pads and Im over due for changing them When they come in I will take some pics before I install them but I am wondering anyone got any time saving tips or is there any special tools other than the one to push in the rear calipers *autozone* ??? I am also going to paint the cali's at the same time so please anyone that has any words of wisdom would be great!! :Beer
thanks agian
Dustin

The special tool does not 'push' in the rear caliper piston. The tool fits in the recesses of the piston and you turn the piston clockwise to screw the piston down.
By the way, if you have one of those cube shaped universal tools, it won't work. None of the sides fit in the slots.

*autozone has a tool that has about 6-8 different ends.
So I'm sure I will find something that will work....Also sorry about the wording I guess I does spin the rear piston back...
With taking off the rotors is there anything special I have to do (funky clips special bolts........BLAH BLAH BLAH ) I just want to get them and do them and be done with them! I dont want this to turn into an all day thing. I have done many brakes on other cars but never this My truck was a breeze but my girlfriends saturn was a pain... Infiniti G20 fairly simple....FORD ESCAPE NUTTS took some time to find a TORX (allen key on a socket wrench) that would fit so Im just trying to get all my Ducks In a Row.... Thanks again Guys

i was refering to the part when
they where talking about
pushing in the rear calpiers since you dont realy push them in your have to
twist them
on most lincolns on the rear calipers i just got a pair of Needel nose pliser and put them in the groves and turn man

the hardest part is removing the caliper mounting bolts - they face away from you and are on there TIGHT....

well they arnt that hard to remove but mine are realy hard couse one of mine is strip on the head and i cnat get it to budge man

so I might need some air tools? or just some pb blaster and some patients
Anybody have a list of bolt sizes? I'm probally getting greedy now :N LOL just asking.... I really hope its problem free event
:dancefool

I did mine with a half inch drive torque wrench. makes a good breaker bar and there's NOTHING I can't loosen w/that thing

i just yous renches you dont need airtools but it would make it easier and faster if you wanted to yous them but just more costly man

exactly what I did!!!

only thing that scares me is those torque wrenches flex so much (for obvious reasons) I'm scared it'll snap while I'm jumping on it!

yeah i can see what your saying im saving up for some airtools and a air compressor next year

So how many productive posts did you actually post today? Did any of them help out other LvC members? Just curious...

Man, is spelling a lost art?? I can't even read most of these posts!

we already went throught this today with him. the man has a problem, we all know and can see he needs a little help. i sure hope that every post BIGDOG post we dont criticize him (i myself am guilty of this, but thats b4 i found out he was dislezic). i know its hard to overlook the spelling and "pointless" post, but is it just me or would it be better of us as a community to help this man out instead of hold him back. just my .02 cents, no ones perfect and everyone needs a little help now and again.
