Tires for 02 LS Sport

I am new to this site and I am wondering if someone could help me with a question. I own a 2002 LS Sport with the chrome 17' rims. What is the widest tire that I can put on that rim that will not drastically change the look of the car. I was thinking of 245/55. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I have 255/45/17's on both my 02 and 04 V8's. Those are about as wide as you can go on a stock wheel. Im alos lowered 2" on both cars with no rubbing, gives it a mean aggressive look. I will have pics of the 04 up in my garage soon. I just put the 255/45's on there this weekend.
