Ok so im going to buy new tires and i like so many models that i wanted to ask you for your opinions on what tire is best for my car.The tire size that i would be using is 245-45-17

The Tires are:
- Bridgestone S-03 Pole Position
- Dunlop SP Sport FM901
- Michellin Pilot Sport or Sport PS2
- Bf Goodrich KDW

Can't go wrong with Michellin or BFG. Depending on your driving style, the S-03's might now wear well and I haven't liked Dunlop since they axed the SP-8000's.

I've got BF Goodrich KDWs and can't say enough about them. They cost an arm and a leg but they're well worth the price.

I am currently running 245/45-17 Goodyear F1 GS-D3 and like them alot.

I have been running the Pole Positions on my Mustang for 2 years. I have put about 15k on them and have not experienced any excessive wear.

They are awsome tires. I went to them from a BFG gForce and I will never go back. They stick like glue. With the BFG's I could squeal 1st through 3rd no problem, with the S03's I can only get 1st and a slight chirp in second, then I'm gone. I took a Full circle exit ramp at 55 mph, no loose condition, no rear end shake, no barking hound dog noise out of the tires (you know that "ooorrrhh, ooorrrhh, ooorrrrrhh" sound)

The few time that I have been cought out in the rain, I have not experienced any hydroplane or loose conditions on the highway. My only problem with wet traction is a heavy foot on the take off.

the only draw back to them that I can see is that they are soooo sticky, they pick up every little pebble and stone and sling them up into the fender well at low speed and it sounds like you have a 5th grade drum corp in your trunk. This may not be a problem in a well insulated LS though.

i had goodyears before.. they last looong.. but they didnt have an extended lip to protect my rim.. i currently have NITTO tires and I love em.. jus dont know how long the life on them are..

I have that exact tire, been running it for 1000 miles or so. It's a little "stiffer" of a tire than stock, but on hot pavement the thing hooks around corners like it's on rails. I'd definately buy these again. Quik's tires are also good. I believe in Road and Track they did a test, the KDW-2's had a little better hold on dry pavement, but the F-1's were amazing in wet. The KDW-2's are still good in wet conditions, but the F-1's are better balanced in both.

Yep... this is what I was talking about.

It was the best performer in all three wet-track tests and was very competent in the dry. It generated 0.94 g on the dry skidpad, only 0.01 g off the first-place BFGoodrich and tied with the Yokohama and Hankook.

It all depends on climate, if you have a lot of rain I'd suggest the F1's. The BFG's are tiny bit better in dry climate, and they last a little longer. Either tire is very good.

The best tire I have ever run is the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. Great wet/dry traction and extremely quite. Oh yeah, they hug the road like it ain't no one's business!

Since you live in a warmer climate south of the border you could get away with the Michelin Pilot Sport tires. It isn't an All Weather tire like the A/S.

Tires

I have BFG KDW 255x45x17 They fit without any problems, have the Eibach springs also. They stick great. Have over 30k on the tires and they show little wear.:)
