HOw many of you guys have put 245/45/17 tires on your factory 17" wheels? HOw does it look and how is the ride? Thanks

I'm thinking you might be meaning 255 45's.
They are VERY close to the same height but they are about an inch wider. Looking at them from the side you don't notice much difference but from the rear they look BADAZZ. I just recently put 2 of the Kumho's on the rear of our LS and they look so nice. The main reason I went with the size is that they were $100 cheaper then the same tire in our stock size from Sears. Do a search for my name and you will see where I asked this question many times and 1 member posted some pics of his.
If you meant 245's, then they are quite abit smaller then the stockers and will give you more fender gap

That also depends on your rims. If you are running say 17X7's with 255/45/17's a 10" inch wide tire, the side walls will be slanted in to the rim. Most rim manufactures don't recommend much over a 235/45 on a 7" and 245/45's on a 7.5 " rim. Now if you can find some 8+" rims then you would be in good shape

the factory rims are 17x7.5

I have run 245/45 for the last three sets of tires. I just took off a set of Potenza RE750s and put on Goodyear F1 GS-D3s

Here's my thread from when I was shopping. Scroll down and you will see a nice tire size calculator and a black LS with 255's. You can barely tell a difference from the side.

The black LS is mine and here is a good side view of the 255/45's They do stick out much further than stock, but not enough to be too big for the rim.
