too expensive?

I'm looking for a 97/98 VIII and came across this ad. He's asking for 12k. If the car is that flawless I can only come up with maybe 8k as a reasonable offer. The price seems a bit high, but I'm not too familiar with prices on these cars. Any ideas?

I wouldn't pay that much for a Mark. If you have $8000 to spend there are plenty of Marks you can get. I am sure there are a few on this site looking to unload theirs. You have more than enough. The engines in the Marks are work horses. Low miles are nice, but not for that price. There are a lot LSC's one Ebay now.

I have a 97, but If I could go back id get a 93 with half the miles for half the price.

I couldnt have said it better myself....

With higher mileage, you have to worry about other things then the engine, like starters, alternators, suspension, etc. Those are the things likely to start breaking down.

Ooooh tempting me to take a road trip. If it was an LSC, I would really have to restrain myself.

Don't let the Letters LSC fool you.. it really doesn't mean much in my opinion... just more money...

$12K way way too much for a Mark VIII...

If you have patients you'll find what you are wanting for Thousands less..

And don't let miles fool you.. Miles on a Mark VIII mean nothing.. Unless you are trying to prove just how long a Mark VIII will last.. my 93 had 205,000+ and going strong... I'd run it again any with much less miles... any sub 100,000 mile mark.

But there are not many Stock Mark VIII's on the Market worth more than $8,000 again in my opinion..

I'm probably going to unload my 98 LSC w/86K for about 6-7K. It's in good shape - I think that guy wants WAAAY too much.

u can take my 97 home for 4000 120K and i have replaced all the problem items... its has been meticulously maintaned
