There's no clear "Jeremy" or "Captain Slow" or "Hamster" at all.
So, I do think they avoided the tendency to find an "American" James May or Clarkson or Hammond.
My only real concern is that they seem a litte too silly. Like they're trying a little too hard to have fun. But that's something they may outgrow.
well they are red collar/blue collar guys who get to drive fast cars, so really they are trying to be 2yrs old again, even their "woohoos" and "weeee" seem tooo childish as compared to BBC top gear

Which would seem to contradict your first statement and agree with mine.
Even this current generation of Top Gear took a couple seasons to hit it's stride. The first season is vastly inferior to the tenth. James May came on during the 2nd season replacing a boring fat guy who would talk about used car prices.
Maybe Adam Carolla will join the team in season 2.
